This Privacy Policy explains how Frendict (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Frendict mobile app, website, and related services (the “Service”).

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect details you provide such as username, email address, and password (stored in hashed form). You may also add a display name or profile details in the app.

Gameplay & social data

We store your match predictions, coin balance, streaks, medals, challenges, friend connections, leaderboard rankings, and in-app messages related to challenges so the Service can function.

Device & technical data

We may collect device type, operating system, app version, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, crash logs, and diagnostic data to keep the Service secure and reliable.

Notifications

If you enable push notifications, we store a device push token so we can send alerts about challenges, results, and account activity. You can turn these off in your device settings at any time.

Waitlist & marketing

If you join our waitlist or contact us, we collect the email address and any message content you send so we can respond or notify you about launch access.

2. How we use information

• Provide, operate, and improve the Service
• Authenticate accounts and protect against fraud or abuse
• Settle predictions, challenges, coins, medals, and rankings
• Send service and (with your consent) marketing communications
• Analyze usage to fix bugs and improve features
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Legal bases (EEA / UK)

Where applicable, we process personal data on these bases:

• Contract — to provide the Service you signed up for
• Legitimate interests — security, product improvement, analytics

4. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

• Service providers who host infrastructure, send email or push notifications, or help us analyze crashes — under confidentiality obligations
• Other users for features you use (e.g. username on leaderboards, challenge participants, friend lists)

5. Virtual currency

Coins and similar balances in Frendict are virtual and have no real-world cash value. Related gameplay records are processed as described in this Policy solely to operate the Service.

6. Retention

We keep account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward if needed for disputes, security, backups, or legal compliance. You may request deletion as described below.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. International transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

11. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version here and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
